What a night…what a special night. I keep reflecting over the past 9 months since launching food. curated., and attending the James Beard Foundation Awards this year, as a first time nominee, truly made me realize how far I’d come in such a short amount of time. I put so much personal joy and passion into the food stories I tell, that I couldn’t ask for a better start to a journey that means so much.

Thanks again to everyone for all of your outpouring of love and support. A toast to Always Hungry, a group of really nice food-loving folks who shared this nomination with me. And a HUGE congratulations to Ed Levine and my very good friends and editors at Serious Eats for winning Best Video Webcast. There’s nothing like seeing you peers succeed, and I couldn’t be happier for a team I admire on so many levels: Erin Zimmer, Robyn Lee, Adam Kuban, Alaina Browne and Carey Jones.

So cheers to a great James Beard Foundation Awards and to my little food series that could. I cannot wait to bring you more inspirational and quirky documentaries from the field in 2010.

Make people happy. That’s my mission. Make people happy.

(PS – that last photo is a quick shot of me as they were announcing my series and name on the big screens. It’s my favorite photo from the night. I’ll never forget that moment.)
