Luck favors the prepared…

That’s one of my favorite quotes. I have it written in a journal of mine from a long, long time ago – a journal where I’d ponder on life and jot down hopes for the future. I just knew it would be relevant for me at some point, there was something about it that spoke to me, so I wrote it down hoping that one special day would come.  And it did come, this week, when food. curated. was nominated for Best Video Webcast by The James Beard Foundation.

You have no idea how lucky I feel to be nominated. After all the hard work I’ve put into this, to have my series recognized is the most amazing feeling in the world. But I am so ready for this. So ready. You see, I’ve had this dream for much longer than my series is old. And I’ve been imagining the type of stories I’d want to tell for years. How I’d present them. How I’d shoot them. The passionate people I would feature. The emotional tone. The intimacy. The community involvement. The realness of it all. Everything. I just had this heart-filled plan to do something truly meaningful to me as a food lover and storyteller. And when I set out on my adventure to finally showcase my take on food…food curated…it was so effortless. I was beyond prepared. In a way, I felt I was destined to do this. And I’m so glad I did.

From here, there will be more stories to come and more food like you’ve never seen it before. Like I’ve always said, learning about food is a shared experience, and I’m so happy to share this great honor with you – because at the end of the day, my stories are nothing without you and your constant support. Thank you!
