“Because everybody likes chocolate…”

Meet Justine Pringle and Andy Laird, co-founders and chocolatiers of NuNu Chocolates in Brooklyn, NY. What began as a just-for-fun idea turned into a successful small business all because they got too good at making chocolates to stop.

How good? Well, the truth is, I first tried NuNu Chocolates at a specialty beer shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I was browsing, checking the lineup of newly-stocked beers when to my left I saw what looked like a shelf of chocolates. I stepped toward it for closer inspection and, instantly, the see-through NuNu Chocolate box caught my eye. I picked it up. Mmmm. Salt caramels – and heavy on the salt, just how I like it. I wonder how they are…

“Beware!” I hear the the nice shop keeper say to me with a little smirk.
“What do you mean, beware?”
“Those chocolates are like crack. I have people walk out of here with 8-9 boxes at a time!” he warned, looking strangely guilty himself.

And he was right. Totally addicting? Check. Perfectly salted? Check. Like crack? Something special? Come take a peek inside their new Brooklyn shop and see for yourself…

So if your sweet tooth is now aching, you can score a box of NuNu Chocolates at the specialty stores below:

For a complete list of their chocolates or to order online, click here! I’m still dying to try: Absinthe Delight, the Prosecco Ganache, the special beer-flavored chocolates and the Mezcal Chili. If you’ve had them, let me know what you think!

Thanks for watching food. curated. Happy sweet tooth!

  7. Dear Liza,

I watched your Nunu Chocolate video on the Grub Street website. I loved it. I really appreciated the way you captured Andy and Justine’s passion for what they do. As a semi-retired chocolatier, due to a lack of the right kind of passion for chocolate making, it was a pleasure watching them. I love seeing their product around in shops and events! It’s a testimony to what happens when you do what you love!!!

Thanks for sharing your passion that shows the passion of others!!

    Cheers,

    Jackie
