Shop Local: The New Amsterdam Market
Blog Posts – By Liza de Guia on Nov 20, 2009

Boasting over 50 vendors from around the NYC region, there is no reason to keep complaining how hard it is to find good, locally produced food. On Sunday, November 22nd, you can mosey on down to South Street Seaport to make friends and develop relationships with local food artisans and purveyors determined to sell you on a taste of their blood, sweat and tears. It’s Thanksgiving themed, so if you haven’t bought your ingredients for the feast, hold out until Sunday.
Vendors to look out for:
- Sweet Deliverance Brooklyn, New York – Thanksgiving pies
- Fleisher’s Grassfed & Organic Meats Kingston, New York – Sausage for stuffing, grass-fed beef
- The Cellars at Jasper Hill Greensboro, Vermont – Northeast cheeses, aged in Jasper Hill’s state of the art cellars
- W&T Seafood Brooklyn, New York – Fresh oysters and mussels from regional waters
- The Piggery Trumansburg, New York – Handcrafted pasture-raised pork and charcuterie
